Authorship and Contributorship

MATRIK: Jurnal Manajemen, Teknik Informatika dan Rekayasa Komputer adheres to the principles of transparency and best practices in scientific publishing as determined by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), Open Access Scholarly Publishing Association (OASPA), and World Association of Medical Editors (WAME). This policy outlines authorship and contributor requirements, ensuring clear and unambiguous attribution of contributions to published works. As an open access journal practicing CC-BY-SA licensing, authors retain copyright of their articles while granting broad permission for distribution and reuse. This journal follows the Core Practices outlined by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

Criteria for Authorship
Writing scientific articles in MATRIK: Jurnal Manajemen, Teknik Informatika dan Rekayasa Komputer must be based on a substantial contribution to the conception, design, implementation or interpretation of research. To be considered a writer, a person must meet all of the following criteria:

1. Substantial Contributions: Authors are expected to make significant contributions to the intellectual content of the article, such as conception or research design, data acquisition, analysis, interpretation, and drafting or revising the manuscript for important intellectual content.
2. Final Version Approval: All authors must approve the final version of the article and agree to be responsible for its content.
3. Accountability: Authors must be able to explain and defend research findings in public forums when necessary.


Contributorship Statement
To encourage transparency and avoid misunderstandings, MATRIK may request a contributor's statement with manuscripts submitted to MATRIK. The statement should explicitly identify each author's contribution to the research. These statements will not be published, but should accurately reflect the individual roles played by each author.

Dispute resolution
If there is a difference of opinion or dispute regarding authorship, the MATRIK editorial board will follow a structured process to investigate and resolve the issue. Relevant parties will be asked to provide evidence of their contribution to the research. MATRIK may also seek guidance from COPE or other relevant organizations to ensure a fair and impartial resolution. MATRIK will not be involved in or responsible for personal disputes between authors.

Changes in Authorship
Requests to add, delete, or reassign authors after submission of the manuscript to MATRIK will only be considered in exceptional circumstances. The request must be supported by a written explanation from all authors involved, providing a detailed explanation of the reasons for the change. The MATRIK editorial board will evaluate the request carefully and may consult with journal advisors and check COPE guidelines if necessary.

Honor and Ghostwriting
Honor writing (authorship awards) and ghost writing (uncredited contributions) are not acceptable practices at MATRIK: Jurnal Manajemen, Teknik Informatika dan Rekayasa Komputer. Any individual who made only a minor contribution to the research or article should be appropriately acknowledged in the acknowledgments section, but not listed as an author. MATRIK will actively try to prevent and handle honorary and ghost authorship cases.

Declaration of Conflicts of Interest
Authors must disclose potential conflicts of interest that may influence the interpretation of their research in their submission to MATRIK. Conflicts of interest may include financial interests, affiliations, or personal relationships that could compromise the impartiality and credibility of the work. MATRIK encourages full transparency in these disclosures.

Compliance with Ethical Guidelines
Authors must adhere to the ethical guidelines of MATRIK and the prevailing ethical standards in the field of research. This includes obtaining appropriate permissions for the use of copyrighted materials, obtaining informed consent from human subjects, and ensuring the ethical treatment of animals in research.

Review of Authorship Policy
The authorship policy of MATRIK: Jurnal Manajemen, Teknik Informatika dan Rekayasa Komputer will be reviewed regularly and updated as necessary to align with developing practices in scientific publishing and recommendations from relevant organizations. Any revisions to this policy will be communicated to the author and made publicly available on the MATRIK website.
