Publication Ethic

Target : Jurnal Manajemen Bisnis (e-ISSN: 2715-9361) is a journal published by Bumigora University. This journal follows guidelines based on The 2014 Regulation Number 5 of The Indonesian Institute of Science concerning the Code of Ethics for Scientific Publications which originates from COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics). This statement explains the ethical behavior of all parties involved in the process of publishing an article in this journal, including the author, editor-in-chief, Editorial Board, reviewers, and publisher.

ETHICAL GUIDELINES FOR JOURNAL PUBLICATION

The publication of an article in Target : Jurnal Manajemen Bisnis is an important foundation in efforts to develop a coherent and recognized scientific network. Every article published is a direct reflection of the quality of the author's work and the institutions that support them and uphold the scientific method. Therefore, all parties involved must agree on the standards of ethical behavior expected in the act of publishing: authors, journal editors, publishers, publishers, and the public.

Bumigora University (Universitas Bumigora) as the publisher of Target : Jurnal Manajemen Bisnis takes the role of maintaining all stages of publishing very seriously and we are very aware of our ethical and other responsibilities. We are committed to ensuring that advertising, reprints, or other commercial revenue does not impact or influence editorial decisions. In addition, Bumigora University and the Editorial Board will assist in communication with other journals and/or publishers, which is considered very useful and necessary.

DUTIES OF EDITOR AND DECISION ON PUBLICATION

The editors of  Target : Jurnal Manajemen Bisnis are responsible for deciding which submitted articles should be published. Editors may be guided by the policies of the journal's editorial board and are limited by applicable legal provisions, such as defamation, copyright infringement, and plagiarism. Editors may consult with other editors or reviewers in making this decision.

1. Aspect of Fairness: The editor must ensure that manuscripts are reviewed for their intellectual content, irrespective of the authors' sex, gender, race, religion, or citizenship. Editorial independence and integrity are crucial in making fair and unbiased decisions.

2. Confidentiality: The editors and editorial staff will not disclose any information about a submitted manuscript to anyone other than the author, reviewer, prospective reviewer, or other appropriate editorial board members.

3. Disclosure and Conflict of Interest: Reviewers should not use any privileged information obtained during the review process for personal gain and should avoid reviewing manuscripts in which they have a conflict of interest. They should inform the editor if they suspect any potential conflict of interest.

DUTIES OF REVIEWERS

1. Contribution to Editorial Decisions: Reviewers play a role in helping the editor make decisions on whether to publish or reject a manuscript, and may also provide feedback to help authors improve their work.

2. Promptness: Any selected reviewer who feels they do not meet the requirements/interest to review the manuscript or do not have enough time to review it must immediately notify the editor and withdraw from the review process.

3. Confidentiality: Reviewers should maintain the confidentiality of the manuscript and not share it with others unless authorized by the editor.

4. Objectivity: Reviewers should provide an objective assessment of the manuscript and provide clear and constructive feedback to the authors. They should follow the journal's instructions for providing feedback and avoid any conflicts of interest.

5. Acknowledgement of Sources: Reviewers should ensure that authors have properly cited all sources used in their research, and should inform the editor of any concerns they have about the ethical aspects of the work. If reviewers become aware of any irregularities or potential misconduct, they should inform the editor immediately but should not personally investigate further.

6. Disclosure and Conflict of Interest: Reviewers should not use any privileged information obtained during the review process for personal gain and should avoid reviewing manuscripts in which they have a conflict of interest. They should inform the editor if they suspect any potential conflict of interest.

DUTIES OF AUTHOR

1. Reporting Standards: Authors must report research accurately and honestly, without any manipulation or falsification of data. Manuscripts should provide enough detail and references to allow replication of the work. Fraudulent or inaccurate statements are unacceptable, and manuscripts should follow the journal's submission guidelines.

2. Data Access and Retention: Authors are requested to provide raw data related to the manuscript for editorial purposes, and should be prepared to provide public access to such data, if possible, and should retain such data after publication.

3. Originality and Plagiarism: Authors must ensure that their work is original and not submitted concurrently to multiple publications. Relevant previous work should be properly acknowledged and referenced, with citations to the primary literature where possible. Original wording taken directly from other publications should be appropriately cited.

4. Multiple, Redundant, or Concurrent Publications: Authors should not submit the same manuscript to more than one journal or publish redundant manuscripts describing the same research in more than one journal. Multiple publications from a single research project should be identified as such, and the primary publication should be referenced.

5. Acknowledgement of Sources: Authors should acknowledge all sources of data used in the research and cite publications that influenced the nature of the reported work.

6. List of Manuscript Authors: Authors should be limited to those who have made significant contributions to the conception, design, conduct, or interpretation of the research being reported. All persons who have made significant contributions should be listed as co-authors. Other persons or parties who have participated in certain substantive aspects of the research project must be acknowledged or listed as contributors. The corresponding author should ensure that all appropriate authors are listed in the manuscript and that there are no inappropriate authors, and that all authors have seen and approved the final version of the paper and have agreed to its submission for publication.

7. Human or Animal Hazards: If the work involves chemicals, procedures, or equipment that have unusual hazards inherent in their use, the author should clearly identify these in the manuscript.

8. Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest: Authors are required to reveal any financial or other significant conflicts of interest that could potentially impact the result or interpretation of their manuscript, and they must disclose all sources of financial support for their research project.

9. Fundamental Errors in Published Works: When authors discover significant errors or inaccuracies in their published work, the author must immediately notify the journal editor or publisher and work with the editor to retract or correct the manuscript.

PUBLICATION MALPRACTICE

1. Target : Jurnal Manajemen Bisnis will not tolerate any form of academic misconduct, including plagiarism, data fabrication, and improper authorship attribution.

2. In cases of suspected misconduct, Target : Jurnal Manajemen Bisnis will investigate the matter thoroughly and take appropriate action, including retracting or correcting published articles.
