Abstract

Not every child book is good for children, even a book was written by children. It needs adult supervision in choosing a book to read. The content inside the book rarely contains the information which continuing gender stereotype. This study aims to see the meaning inside KKPK works, Car Free Day by Alma. Semiotics (Pierce) used to find the meaning of the work. With triangular meaning by pierce (object, sign, and interpretant ) will help us to find the conceiving meaning inside the text. While gender and performativity (Judith Butler) use to assess the meaning. This research is a qualitative study. The data consist of words and pictures. This research found there are three female stereotypes: feminine symbol, woman and hedonism, and weakness of woman.
